Two drainage methods of the van filter press

03 22, 2025

The Chamber filter press has two drainage methods: open flow and dark flow (or closed flow),

Advantages of open flow drainage:

1. You can observe the state of the filtrate flowing from the faucet.

2. When the filtrate becomes cloudy, it can determine which filter plate the cloudy liquid comes from, which is easy to find the problem.

Disadvantages of open flow drainage:

1. The filtrate is exposed to the air and is not suitable for discharging volatile or toxic liquids.

2. There will be a small splash when the filtrate flows into the tank from the tap.

Advantages of undercurrent drainage:

The filtrate is collected directly through the internal pipe of the filter plate and then exits through the pipe without being exposed to air.

Disadvantages of undercurrent drainage:

1. It is not easy to detect when the filtrate becomes cloudy.

2. It is difficult to find out the specific reason for the turbidity of the filtrate.

Possible causes: 1. A filter plate is damaged or misaligned. 2. A filter cloth is damaged or misaligned.)

Summary: For liquids that do not need to be recovered, open flow drainage can be used; For liquids that need to be recovered, or liquids that are volatile, odorous, flammable or explosive, undercurrent drainage should be used.
