Plate and Frame Filter Press
Plate and frame filter press is the first machine applied to chemical dewatering. It has the advantages of large filtration
driving force, high solid rate of filter cake, clear filtrate, high solids recovery rate and low consumption of conditioning
drugs, etc. It is still widely used in some small sewage plants.
Mechanical dewatering methods for sludge include filter dewatering, centrifugal dewatering and press dewatering, etc. There are vacuum filtration and pressure filtration for filter dewatering; centrifugal dewatering is dewatering by centrifugal machine; and press dewatering is dewatering by screw press or roller press. Pressure filtration and centrifugal dewatering methods are commonly used.
Sludge filtration and dewatering is to use the pressure difference between the two sides of the filtration medium as the driving force, so that the sludge water is forced through the filtration medium to form the filtrate, while the solid particles are retained in the medium to form the filter cake, so as to achieve the purpose of sludge dewatering.
